As long as people inhabited the earth, they raised livestock and grew plants for food. By comparison, aviation only got its start in 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Even then, it wasn't until 1921 when the Ohio Department of Agriculture and an Army pilot first experimented with using airplanes to treat pests.
