UAV Policy Update With several new UAV rules come expanded drone operations

While technology moves fast, the regulatory process is designed to be slow, measured and open for the public to provide ample contributions. After many months, and in some cases years, of soliciting public input, various unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) rules under consideration by the FAA are inching toward the finish line. With these new rules will come new types of UAV operations. This includes UAV flights over people and at night. NAAA has submitted comments to the FAA on all these matters and participated in several working groups to ensure the FAA's UAV policy protects the safety of low-level aviators.
