Biggies of the Camel Squadron

I'm sure that few Aeroplane readers grew up without reading some of the series of Biggies books by Capt W.E.Johns. To a young person fascinated by aviation the gripping stories of Biggies' adventures were packed with drama, incident and some humour, with the early editions set in a period of which the author had personal experience. The pioneering days of air combat gave the main character scope for exploits that called for flying skill, initiative and cool daring, and many who read these books as children became avid collectors of the series in later life. The early editions are especially prized by collectors as "vintage Biggies".
