Avro museum opens

The Avro Heritage Museum opened its doors to the public at Woodford, Cheshire, on 13 November. The museum is housed in the old airfield fire station, which has been completely refurbished since being donated by BAE Systems. Among the displays in the building are the nose of Vulcan B2 XM602, which has full cockpit access for visitors, and a'hands-on' Nimrod MRA4 work-station - the latter was the last aircraft type built at the historic Woodford factory before the project was cancelled in late 2010. The airfield went on to be closed on 25 August the following year.
