WINGLETS FOR ARC 'LIZZIE'

During the IWM Duxford Battle of Britain photographers' night-shoot on 24 October, the Aircraft Restoration Company's No 225 Squadron-liveried Westland Lysander Illa, V9312/G-CCOM, made its first appearance wearing newly installed wheel-spat winglets. Constructed by ARC veteran John 'Smudge' Smith, the winglets have bomb racks attached, as would have been seen on 225's Old Sarum and Tilshead-based Lysanders during the Battle of Britain, when they were used to fly from the two Wiltshire bases on anti-invasion patrols along the Hampshire coast and the Isle of Wight.
