The method involves providing a winglet tube with winglet structures (2) including internally aligned individual winglets (1), where the winglets exhibit length of 7 mm. The winglets are embossed into a base material (3) i.e. aluminum, by using an extrusion process. The base material in a region of the winglets is loaded using a punch and a die plate over a flow limit. A portion of the base material is pressed in recesses of the die plate, where the portion of the base material serves as a negative form of the winglets. An independent claim is also included for a winglet tube comprising winglet structures.
