DR RUDOLF GÖTHERT

Born in Hanover in 1912, aerodynamicist Rudolf Göthert studied physics and mathematics at his home city's technical college. His older brother Bernhard got him a job at Braunschweig technical college's wind tunnel in 1935. Two years later, as a qualified engineer, Rudolf became head of the low-speed wind tunnel at the LFA's Institute of Aerodynamics in Braunschweig. His doctoral thesis, completed in 1940, was a "systematic investigation of wings with flaps and tabs".
