The diagnostic capability of the Cray, gfortran, Intel, Nag and Oracle Fortran compilers: Revision 1

This version has been updated with details of the Intel 19.1 release and the Nag 7.0 release. We have used several compilers for the development of the examples in our books. The following table summarises this information: We currently use the Cray, gfortran, Intel, Nag and Oracle compilers. The diagnostic capability of compilers is very important both in code development and when teaching Fortran. 1. Cray: 8.5.8 2. gfortran: 9.1.0 3. Intel: 19.1 4. Nag: 7.0 5. Oracle: Sunstudio 12.6 and compiler 8.8 Source code exists for both Linux and Windows. The first table lists the source code test and run time error.
