The Ashes tour of this summer is one of the most keenly anticipated of recent years. While recent contests between Australia and England have been embarrassingly one-sided, England's improvement in the past two years means that when Australia and England take to the field at Lord's on 21 July it will be the best team in the world playing the second best. While it might be too optimistic to think that England can win, it certainly ought to be a closely-fought and fascinating contest. It is also expected to raise around £1m for English cricket, and although the finances of English cricket have improved in recent years, this revenue will still be welcome.
