On 7 January 2005 Clark Door was a small but growing specialist door manufacturer with a factory in Carlisle. By the end of the next day its entire operation had been destroyed by floodwater. Managing director Paul Ashley says:'We had a full order book but all the plant, computer systems and stock were gone and we were left with no alternative but to start from scratch.' He was facing a £3m bill for relocation and flood damage.
