Accountants are leading the way in the ranks of women board directors at FTSE 100 companies, according to new research. Out of the 47 women recently appointed to a FTSE 100 company board as either executive or non-executive directors, 27 had a financial background. Of the four women who took on executive roles in the last year, two were appointed as financial directors - Liz Doherty at consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser and Lucinda Bell at property company British Land.
