The deadline for the first online report by 'employment intermediaries' in respect of gross payments they have made for work done has now come and gone. Whether HMRC has received the quality of data that it expected by its 5 August deadline will no doubt become clear in due course. The HMRC pages of gov.uk were updated to include a section for agents, but only within a week before the filing deadline. Shouldn't this have been done considerably sooner or does HRMC think that agents address such issues only at the eleventh hour?
