The impact of diclofenac and ibuprofen on biofilm formation on the surface of polypropylene mesh

PurposeThe difficulties related to treatment of deep surgical site infection involve formation of biofilm on the surface of synthetic material. It is considered that in treatment of infections involving formation of biofilm, concomitant therapy shall be applied covering anti-inflammatory drugs. The purpose of the work was to assess the impact of diclofenac and ibuprofen on bacterial biofilm formation on the surface of monofilament polypropylene mesh.
