摘要

Exosomes are natural nanoparticles that play an important role in cell-to-cell communication. Communication is achieved through the binding of exosomes to the surface of recipient cells or delivery of regulatory cargos such as microRNAs (miRs) to recipient cells. Exosomes can be detected in most body fluids including milk. We reported that exosomes and miR cargos do not originate exclusively in endogenous synthesis but humans and other mammals absorb BMEs. The field of BME bioavailability is somewhat controversial and would benefit from the availability of a tool that facilitates BME tracking in organisms. The objective of this study was to compare the characteristics of BMEs and exosomes secreted by Mac-T cells as a step toward using Mac-T cell exosomes in future studies of BME bioavailability and distribution.
