Paediatric fractures are commonly stabilised with the use of K-wires.1 K-wire removal after fracture healing varies across the United Kingdom, from removing wires in the fracture clinic without anaesthesia to readmission for procedure under general anaesthesia.2 Parental anxiety towards young patients going under anaesthesia in the background of the COVID-19 pandemic is high. Removal of K-wires, particularly the second one, can be challenging in a clinical setting.
