The aging population in the United States poses a substantial challenge toour health care system, and particularly affects the training of physiciansin geriatric care. To introduce undergraduate medical students to a varietyof clinical skills and concepts emphasized in geriatrics, we created aninterprofessional geriatric workshop and examined changes in studentperceptions of working in interprofessional teams, knowledge regardinggeriatric concepts, perceptions of the pre-work material, and suggestionsfor curricular improvement to enhance the workshop for future students.
