The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends influenza vaccination for all children 6 months and older.1 The influenza vaccine is estimated to have prevented 19 414 hospitalizations and 178 deaths in children under 18 years of age in the United States (U.S.) during the 2017-18 influenza season.2 However, only 59% of children 6 months and older received the influenza vaccine in the U.S. during the 2013-17 influenza seasons.3
