Radiological measures of proximal femur. Canal width 2 cm above the mid-lesser trochanter line. Canal width 3 cm below the mid-lesser trochanter line. Femoral bone width 10 cm below the mid-lesser trochanter line. Canal width 10 cm below the mid-lesser trochanter line. These measures were used to calculate canal flare index ( / ), cortical index [(  −  )/ ], and canal–calcar ratio ( / )
