Endovascular therapy of acute ischemic stroke related to tandemocclusion: comparison of occlusion and severe stenosis of the proximal cervicalinternal carotid artery

Strokes related to tandem occlusions of the internal carotid artery (ICA) and amajor intracranial artery are associated with poor clinical outcome. Weevaluated the clinical efficacy of endovascular approach for the management ofthese lesions. We also compared the clinical outcomes regarding the type ofcervical ICA lesions; complete occlusion severe stenosis.
