摘要

Tissues are composed of many heterogeneous cell-types and differences in cell-type proportions often carry biological significance. For example, cell-type compositional differences can shed light on disease mechanisms [ ], immune response in cancer [ ] and developmental processes [ ]. In recent years, single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has become an increasingly popular technology as it allows the cell-type identity of each individual cell sequenced to be inferred. This has enabled generation of insights through comparison of cell-type composition between samples.
