ObjectivesThree-dimensional ultrasound (3D-US) imaging is a powerful tool to visualize various components of the anal sphincter complex, i.e., the internal anal sphincter (IAS), the external anal sphincter (EAS) and the puborectalis muscle (PRM). Our goal was to determine the reliability of 3D US imaging technique in detecting morphological defects in the IAS, EAS & PRM.
