Risk Analysis of the Long-Term Outcomes of the Surgical Closure of Secundum Atrial Septal Defects

BackgroundClosure of a secundum atrial septal defect (ASD) is possible through surgical intervention or device placement. During surgical intervention, concomitant pathologies are corrected. The present study was conducted to investigate the outcomes of surgical ASD closure, to determine the risk factors of mortality, and establish the effects of concomitant disease correction.
