The Exploration of the True Filial Piety in Pangs of Love

摘要

David Wong Louie's Pangs of Love portrays the life between two generations in an immigrant family. Through textual analysis on the communication patterns between mother and her three sons, this paper tries to distinguish the different modes Ah-Wee, Bily and Ray choose to contact with their mother, and then attempts to explore the true filial piety under the context of cultural colision and integration.
