Based on two in-situ measurements and mathematical analysis, the micro-climate in a large central underground pump and power station has been discussed in this paper. It is found from the research that the "semiinfinite" body model in the general heat transfer can closely represent the heat exchange process in the air flow-surrounding rock-adiabatic intermittent heat source complex in the station. Finally, computer simulations were made to calculate the micro-climate in a similar pump and power station where power machines operate intermittently. The simulation results are quite satisfactory. It can provide useful information for decisionmaking in the air conditioning of such stations.
