The Environmental Protection Agency of the United States (US EPA) issued the list of biopesticide active ingredients on September 30, 2017. There are more than 350 AIs mainly belonging to biochemicals and microbies. This list has changed a lot as compared with earlier version and numerous new AIs with more diversity have been added. Biochemical pesticides represented the largest portion (57.5%) of the biological pesticide, especially the pheromones accounting for 31.5% of the biopesticides. Microbial pesticides occupy 36% of the biopesticides, and the bacterial pesticides are the majority accounting for 52%.
