The problems of toxic and side effects appeared in the application of herbs were stated from com-mon causes of toxic and side effects of herbs and the countermeasures of reducing toxic and side effects of herbs, toxic and side effects of herbs should never be neglected, the countermeasures were raised to ensure clinical safety of herbal use.%阐述中药在应用上显现出的毒副作用问题，认为中药的毒副作用不容忽视，并提出相应对策，以保证临床用药的安全有效。
