Formaldehyde content in leather was detected quantitatively through a reverse chromatography separation after 2, 4 - dinitrobenzene hydrazone was obtained via quantitative reaction of formaldehyde and 2, 4-DNPH. Depending on the experimental results, the reaction time was established.
