Robert Frost is one of American's most important poets in 20th century. His poetry is simple, fresh and natural, but also with deep thinking and pro-found connotations. It attracts a huge amount of readers and scholars. Frost has never systematical y expounded his poetic theory, but in many of his materials, we could find his poetry composing idea–the"sound of sense"concept. The"sound of sense" is the core of his poetry. Combined with Frost's growing background, this essay is going to discuss the origins and connotations of the"sound of sense", and it is going to probe further with his masterpiece The Road not Taken.
