This study aims to identify the association between Big Pharmas' drug R&D and commercial performance. The sample is composed of Top 50 drug firms in the world in 2009. The concentration ratio of pharmaceutical pipeline was measured, correlation analysis, cluster analysis and one-way ANOVA were run to disclose the optimal pipeline structure. The results show that pipeline concentration ratio correlates negatively with firm sales. Big Pharmas featured by W-shaped pipeline with peaks of drug count in descending order have highest sales, compared to the other 2 types of firms.%旨在探索药物研发与制药企业商业绩效的联系.研究样本由2009年全球药品市场排名前50位的大型制药公司组成,通过衡量药物开发管道的集中度等特征对其进行相关分析、聚类分析及方差分析,挖掘药物开发管道的最优结构.结果显示,制药管道集中度与公司绩效呈显著性负相关关系,依据不同分布结构的W型药物开发管道,国际大型制药公司被划分为3类,其中W型管道3个药物数量峰呈降序分布的企业,具有最高的商业绩效.
