The Role of Context in Interpreting Word Meaning

Meaning is a central topic in semantics, but it exists in context.Context plays an important role in interpreting word meaning. It will be analyzed as follows: (1)Context determines the referents of deietic words; (2)Context eliminates word ambiguity; (3)Context provides clues for interference of word meaning.
