The advances in both polyethylene nucleating agents and polypropylene nucleating agents, including organic nucleating agents, inorganic nucleating agents and polymeric nucleating agents, giving priority to organic nucleating agents, were reviewed. The efforts on the research of the nucleating mechanism for α-phase and β-phase polypropylene nucleating agents were summarized, and the efforts on the research of crystallization kinetics were summarized as well. Besides, the developing tendencies of nucleating agents for polyolefin were concluded.
