Morrison’s The Bluest Eye begins with a fragment—a triply-repeated story. In the second narration, all punctuation disappears, along with the capital letters. In the third telling, the spacing between the sentences fades, which creates a sense of incomprehensible linguistic chaos.A stylistic approach is adopted to interpret underlying meanings:insanity of the protagonist Pecola and dark sides of American society.Methodically,it is the first time that optics is employed to interpret story, and stylistics can nourish itself from natural sciences.
