1953年,多位重要的建筑师为了武汉三校(即后来的华中工学院)校园规划与建筑设计聚首于喻家山南麓,其中柳士英与夏昌世的设计理念相左,对新中国高等教育的理解也有所不同.上世纪20～30年代他们分别在日本和德国习得了建筑学,但在回到中国之后的几十年里,又逐渐发展出各自的建筑理念.在两位先生屋顶形式之争中,华中工学院最早一批建筑很快便建威了,并成为新中国建筑史中弥足珍贵的遗产.通过这一段钩沉,讲述了两位建筑师从习得的建筑学到人生的建筑学的转变过程,从而认为有必要重新理解中国第一代建筑师及其作品,应辩证看待习得的建筑学与人生的建筑学共同构成的复杂建筑生涯.%In the year 1953. several great architects met together at the south side of Yujia Mountain to work on the campus planning and architectural design for three institutes, which later became Huazhong Institute of Technology (HIT). Among them, Professor Liu Shiying and Professor Hsia Changshi had quite different design ideas and different understanding o! high education of new China. In the first decades of the 20th century, Liu studied architecture in Japan and Hsia obtained his Ph.D. in Germany. They developed very different architecture after they came back to China with several decades' working experiences. Along with their dispute, the first several buildings were designed and built in a short time, and became heritage of architectural history of new China, This article introduces their architectural careers interwoven with learnt architecture and social architecture.
