Given this, this paper analyses the advantages and opportunities that Australia has in the oil and gas industry. These include: oil and gas resources is abundant with superior geographical position;with the support of this administration, this industry has developed to ripe, so there are fat proift margins and excellent investment environment. However, some shortages and challenges that Australia faces are:the dependence on foreign oil is becoming increasingly high;the supply of East Coast’s oil and gas has been affected by the absence of infrastructure. In addition, proift margins have been squeezed by a number of external inlfuences;so in the long-term, cheap natural gas from the USA will impact the Australian market. In response to this, this paper offers the investment strategy. For example, analyzing price movements and paying attention to the exchange rate of interest;grasping Asia-Paciifc market trend and locking long association in advance;focusing efforts on community work and obtaining environmental approvals;utilizing economies of scale and maintaining tight controls over costs and expenses.
