By giving accurate examples and data, the cast iron melting technique progress of China, the gap existing in comparison with developed countries and some problems to be renewedly understood were described. It was pointed out that to accelerate development of the modem cupola melting technique, correctly adopt duplex melting, enhance quality level of the cast iron materials and, as well as, to give attention simultaneously to the energy-saving, material-saving, emission-reducing and environmental protection should be the mainstream direction of the China's foundry industry in order to change China from a big foundry country to a strong foundry country in the new cast iron age.%以翔实的事例和数据阐述了我国铸铁熔炼技术进展情况及其与发达国家相比存在的差距和几个需要重新认识的问题；指出加速现代冲天炉熔炼技术的发展、正确运用双联熔炼、提高铸铁材料水平及全面兼顾节能、节材、减排和环保,应成为我国铸造业在新的铁时代由大变强的主流方向.
