Chongming is known as Home of Longevity in China. The aim of developing Chongming as a Flower Island and Healthy Island is to push health industry forward for the recreation of urban citizen. In this study, 26 species（or cultivars）of aromatic plants that could adapt the weather of Chongming were screened out of 70 species. Plants species with high economic value as crops or ornamental value as flower were propagated in large scale and for planted demonstration. Aromatic garden with functions of propagation, sightseeing, recreation, spreading popularscience, and improving health was builded up, which could contribute to tourism development of Chongming lsland.%崇明素有"中国长寿之乡"美誉,为提升环境质量,满足都市人群的健康养生需求,目前正加紧推进世界级花岛与健康养生岛建设.通过本项目的实施,在崇明地区收集芳香植物70种(含品种),大田种植观察筛选出在崇明地区适生、适宜扩大种植的芳香植物26种,对其中经济价值较高、养生保健功能突出的香草品种或观赏价值较高的芳香花卉种类进行了规模化繁殖与种植示范,建立集生产、观光、科普、体验、休闲、养生于一体的芳香产业观光园,对于崇明养生旅游产业发展起到重要推动作用.
