斯多葛学派的和谐美学思想

摘要

The stoics is one of the philosophic-esthetic schools under the influence of Greece and Rome. They assume that everything in the world is characterized with appropriate proportion, harmony and symmetry, and possesses its own beauty. Everything in the world is subject to nature itself, and man resorts to his intelligence (namely virtue) as well as the good in the ethics, proclaiming the beautiful and the good are a whole one. They endeavor to train people with artistic education, hoping to achieve their goal of creating a world-city society.%斯多葛学派是希腊化和罗马时期影响最大的一个哲学美学流派。他们认为宇宙、自然、各种事物，以及人的灵魂都具有比例恰当、和谐、匀称等特点，都有各自的美。万物都服从于自然本性，而人凭借自身的理性，就能按照自然本性生活，即按照德性生活，并由此走向善。由于善跟它自己的用处成比例，他们把美学中的美与和谐等重要思想与伦理学中的德性和善联系起来，认为美和善是统一的。他们力图通过艺术教育来培养有德之人，以此实现他们构建社会和谐的“世界城邦”的政治理想。
