“芸”考辨

Shuo Wen Jie Zi is the earliest precious database to study the ancient crop words.We can do a textual research on those words combine with other literature and archaeological objects.Ancient annotations、dictionaries and contemporary scholars have different explanations for Yun.Yun has been variously interpreted as sweet grass、fragrant vegetable、Yun Hao、Yun Xiang and Yun Tai.We draw a conclusion according to interpretation of Shuo Wen,combine with ancient annotations、naming motivation from plants、agriculture and Chinese herbology.Yun is not Yun Xiang or Yun Tai,but one of umbelliferae plants what is called Qian Hu.%《说文解字》是研究古代农作物词最早的弥足珍贵的资料库,可以结合其他文献古注和考古实物对其所收词语进行考辨。历代古注、字书以及当今学者对＂芸＂有不同的说解：＂芸＂被释为＂香草＂、＂芳菜＂、＂芸蒿＂、＂芸香＂、＂芸薹＂,等等。作者根据《说文》的解释,结合古注、植物命名理据及农学、中药学等的佐证可知,《说文解字》中的＂芸＂不指芸香、芸薹,而当指伞形科植物＂前胡＂。
