From the perspective of semantic history, this paper explores the evolution of "Wo Man" in Chinese and Japanese languages. It finds that "Wo Man" first appeared as a Buddhist term both in ancient Chinese and Japanese languages. However, compared to the relatively stable condition of its meaning and us- age in Chinese, Japanese "Wo Man" extended its semantic meaning and emotional functions in Heian peri- od, as well as enriched its usage.%从词汇史的角度来观察“我慢”在汉语和日语中的演变,“我慢”是以佛教语面目出现在古汉语和古日语中,但相对于汉语中的“我慢”意义、用法基本稳定不变,日语中的“我慢”则在江户时代词义、情感色彩得到了扩展,用法上也有所丰富。
