A s the m odern cultural elites in W estern H unan,X iong X iling and Shen C ongw en are the representatives of seeking the truth and courageous enough to probe into the culturalspiritof sim plicity.This tw o person have a quite m eaningfulhistorical intersection,on the one hand X iong X iling and contributed to a certain extent,affected the Shen's life choices and literary road;on the otherhand Shen C ongw en's cognition aboutgentry culturaltradition,representative as X iong X iling has a changed course,from the period to flee to the exclusion ofW estern N orth driftperiod,to re-exam ine the late 1940s.Their historicalintersection reflects the m odern socialtransition frontieroutw ards to explore the culturalelite and break through the hardships historicaltrajectory.%作为湘西边地的近代文化精英，熊希龄和沈从文都是务实求真、勇于探索的湖湘文化朴素精神之代表。这两个湘西凤凰人有着颇有意味的历史交集，一方面熊希龄在一定程度上促成和影响了沈从文的人生选择和文学道路，另一方面沈从文对于熊希龄所代表的士绅文化传统有一个认知的嬗变过程，从湘西时期的逃离到北漂时期的排斥，再到20世纪40年代末期的重新审视。沈从文与熊希龄的历史交集反映了近代社会转型时期湘西边地文化精英们向外探求和突围的艰辛历史轨迹。
