For the flaws of high fabricating cost, low buoyancy performance brought by uneven structure, a processing way of combined action of air carding and mechanical blending was performed, the performance of kapok buoyancy material made by the new way was tested and compared with the hand padding's. On the base of new processing way, the influence of cutting,heating and one process to the performance of kapok buoyancy material was investigated. The new process of combined action of air carding and mechanical blending does not affect buoyancy performance of kapok buoyancy material; Heating wadding sheet does not affect the buoyancy performance of kapok buoyancy material; Cutting does not affect buoyancy factor of kapok buoyancy material, but may enhance the buoyancy loss. One process can provide buoyancy material good buoyancy performance.
