Through field investigation and interview, the geographic distribution and resource status of endangered species Rosa praelucens were investigated, and the causes of endangerment were analyzed. It was found that Rosa praelucens distributed at very limited areas, and characterized by scattered distribution or small patches distribution. Totally 172 individuals were observed at 12 populations. The scale of population was very small, and the number of individuals in each population varied a lot, in the biggest population, 56 individuals were recorded, while in the smallest population, only one plant was found. Considering the plant age in the investigated populations, the proportion of aged plants was high, and the number of young plants was quite low, which indicated that the populations were in the decline stage. Human impact and difficulties in self-regeneration jointly caused the endangerment of this species. In accordance with the resource status of Rosa praelucens, three suggestions for protection were proposed as follows: 1) Establishing specific areas in natural distribution region, implementing in-situ protection; 2) Strengthening the studies on scaled propagation technology development, carrying out ex-situ conservation and returning the propagated plants to the natural populations; 3) Taking advantage of religions and traditions of local Tibetan people, making efforts on local people awareness building on protection of endangered plant.%通过实地踏勘及民间访问,对中旬刺玫的地理分布、资源现状进行了调查,据此分析了其濒危原因.调查结果表明:中甸刺玫的地理分布区域十分狭窄,且呈零星或小片状间断分布;在12个中旬刺玫种群分布地中共观测到172株(含幼树)个体.种群规模小,各种群分布地中的中甸刺玫个体数有很大差异,最大的种群分布地为56株,最小种群分布地仅1株,超过10株的种群分布地仅3个.种群中植株的年龄结构表明,中甸刺玫种群的老龄植株较多,幼龄个体数量稀少,缺乏后续资源,而处于衰退期.人类活动影响和自身更新困难是导致中甸刺玫濒危的原因.根据中甸刺玫的资源现状,提出如下合理保护的建议:(1)在中甸刺玫自然分布区内设立保护小区,实施就地保护;(2)重视中甸刺玫规模化繁殖技术的研究,积极开展迁地保护和种群回归工作;(3)利用藏族宗教信仰进行中旬刺玫保护的宣传教育.
