专门用途英语改革困难的社会学制度主义分析

         

摘要

ESP is the orientation of college English reform. The transformation from traditional college English teaching mode to ESP teaching mode is a process of institutional changes, which is a game process of former institutions' de-institutionalization and later institutions' institutionalization, a complex process of former institutions' legitimate crisis and later institutions' construction. Former institutions will put up a last-ditch resistance and implement self-heal consistently in the game process. Hysteresis effect of former institutions will exist in a long term, later institutions' construction is a unconsciously influ-enced process with includes “osmosis”and “anti- osmosis”with former institutions. Implementing lat-er institutions by “passing before change” will yield twice results with half effort, only to achieve the transformation from EGP to ESP.%专门用途英语是大学英语教学改革的方向,但传统大学英语教学模式不会自动退出历史舞台,其向专门用途英语教学模式的转变是一个制度变迁过程。制度变迁是旧制度的去制度化和新制度再制度化的博弈过程,是旧制度合法性危机和新制度合法性确立的复杂过程。在这个博弈过程中,旧制度会负隅顽抗并不断自我修复,旧制度的滞后性影响会长期存在;新制度的构建是与旧制度的“渗透”和“反渗透”的潜移默化的过程,“先通后变”地落实新制度可以收到事半功倍的效果,才能实现由普通英语向专门用途英语的转变。
