Professor CAO Sheng-gao's academic research in recent years is mainly focused on three fields: Ci-Fu, sinology, and literature transformation in history. Han Fu is his academic starting point. In this field, he studied the regime and civilization of Han Dynasty by way of exploring the historical values of Han Fu works and comparing them with historical documents and archaeological materials, the result of which is the enormous expansion of the research field of literature in Han Dynasty. Sinology is his academic foundation. In this field, he systematically summarized the ideological system, cultural concept and academic methods of Chinese civilization by making new construction on the form of sinology. Literature transformation in history is his research center.
