She thought Eichmann do evil because conflicted with both the prosecutor and the defense in "the banality of evil" to characterize Eichmann and of his "thoughtlessness" . This conclusion not only Jerusalem court, but also contradicted the traditional understanding of evil, therefore brought about great controversies. Through the clarification of "the banality of evil" and related controversies, we can know Arendt better.
