花园幽径句的认知加工模型探析

摘要

语言的临时歧义现象近来受到很大关注,花园幽径句更是学者研究的热点。通过对中国英语学习者进行访谈,探索解读主体在解读花园幽径句过程中的综合认知能力,构建了花园幽径句的认知加工模型。解读成功者需要有效地调动语言能力、感知能力、记忆能力和思维能力等各项认知能力,而解读失败者在决策判断、选择性注意能力等方面存在不足。%Since local ambiguity of the sentence has drawn increasing attention recently,garden-path sentence has been the focus of numerous scholars.Through the interviews with Chinese English language learners,this paper explores their integrated cognitive performances involved in the interpretation of GP sentence and puts forward a new cognitive model of GP sentence processing.The results reveal that successful interpreters make full use of language competence,perception competence,memory competence and thinking competence,while those who fail to interpret GP sentence are deficient in decision making and selective attention.
