This paper analyses the writing items of the senior high school entrance examination in 14 cities in Hunan Province in 2015 from two aspects: the content of writing item and its design. It aims to ifnd out the features of these writing items and examine their quality. The findings show that its topics are diversified and genres are rich, but argumentation is dominant and information is mostly provided by words or outlines. As for the design, the testing aims for information expression, and the amount of information is moderate. The openness of writing items is appropriate while the authenticity and interactivity is not satisfying. Some writing items do not reach the textual level.%从试题内容和试题设计两个方面,对2015年湖南省14个地区的中考英语写作试题进行分析,目的是检测2015年湖南省各地中考英语写作试题的命题特点和质量。分析结果显示:写作试题题材丰富,体裁多样,但以议论文为主,信息提供形式以文字型和提纲型居多。在试题设计上,以信息表达为测试目的且信息量较为适中;虽然试题的开放性适度,但真实性和互动性不足,部分试题未达到语篇层次上的意义表达。
