摘要

The essay is to research the archaeological and literary data of Herod's Caesarea and Sebastos in order to reconstruct the legacy of his grandiose showcase city.After briefly reviewing the history of Caesarea Maritima and Sebastos,as well as the excavation history and the excavation methods,the essay gives a broad brushstroke of the city's various structures within the time frame of Herod's reign,including the aqueduct system,city walls,the palace,the central pool,and other structures,but special attention is devoted to the harbor and the warehouse.Lots of Josephus' descriptions have been confirmed by these archaeological data.More importantly,Caesarea can be identified from the archaeological and literary data above as a Romanized,pagan city,highly cultured and internationalized,a city which gives insight into the dreams and passions of Herod the master builder.%本文是为了研究希律王的凯撒利亚城和奥古斯都港而预备的考古和文学资料,以重建他那宏伟的城市遗产.在简要回顾了这座城市的建造和历史沿革,以及20世纪50年代以来对该城的考古发掘史和多样的考古方法后,本文介绍了考古发现的排水系统、城墙、宫殿、中央蓄水池以及其他各种城市建筑,尤为详细地介绍了奥古斯都港和城中的一号仓库.这些考古发现往往能够与约瑟夫斯的历史记载相互印证,而且能够表明这座城市是罗马化的、异教的城市,同时又是高度文明化、国际化的城市,由此也能够了解希律王这位伟大建筑师的梦想与气魄.
