要从事革命文学，首先要做“革命人”。要对中国社会和中国革命有正确的认识，就要参加社会实践，能够运用马克思主义理论科学地分析中国社会和中国革命，对中国革命有深切感受，还要敢于正视现实和黑暗。文艺是独立的，但文学家却是不自由的；文艺应该通过竞争获得发展，但在险恶的政治环境下，自由竞争又是不可能的；左翼作家要团结“同路人”，不应以非此即彼的方式排斥他们。%To engage in revolutionary literature, the first thing "revolutionary people."
