摘要

The Huayan Temple in Datong was a temple built in Liao Dynasty based on old temples also serving as a place for imperial ancestor worshipping. In Liao, Jin, and Yuan dynasties, the temple reached its peak in scale and many prestigious monks were there. In late Yuan and early Ming, it suffered damaged and failed to be completely repaird. In the middle of Ming Dynasty,. Huayan Temple was divided into two parts, the upper part and the lower part, and two projects were the biggest, one was the restoration of Haihui Hall, the other was the molding of statues in Daxiong Hall, and the layout was influenced a little by Zen. And in Qing Dynasty, single buildings became smaller, and the doctrines seen from the layout was complicated, and elements of Confucianism, Daoism were added in it.%大同华严寺,是辽代在旧寺院基础上兴建的具有与皇家祖庙功能相结合的寺院。
